  Food ok. Waited a long time for food and drinks. Very slow service. Quite expensive for local pub meal. Won't return soon.

  Lovely venue with great furnishings but service was really below standard. For afternoon tea I had to go to reception and wait until I could "catch" someone (no one was ever on reception). When the waiter asked if we'd like tea or coffee we asked for a menu of the tea's and he said there wasn't one! When I asked for fresh mint he seemed to think this request was quite difficult to deliver on. I'd imagine The Red Lion management is trying to cut costs by utilising cheap non-experienced staff from abroad which doesn't suit the image the hotel attempts to exude.

  Stunning view of the river, lovely old hotel. Room could benefit from a little TLC, and limited parking, but would definitely stay again.
